The Free Spirit Teal is built around a specific kind of warmth: hand-painted teal acrylic, whimsical artwork drawn from a vocabulary of folk motifs, and a proportion that feels right the moment tiles hit the table. A nod to tradition, executed in a color that turns heads.

Compatible with both American (NMJL) and Chinese play.

160 TILES
American mahjong requires more tiles than the Chinese standard. This set includes the full count for NMJL play: jokers, blanks, flowers numbered for either ruleset, and a complete suit run.
1–9 Dots, Bams, and Cracks (4 of each) = 108
Winds: North, South, East, West (4 of each) = 16
Dragons: Red, Green, White (4 of each) = 12
Flowers = 8 (numbered for American or Chinese play)
Jokers = 10 (2 extras included)
Blanks = 6

TILE DIMENSIONS
1 7/16" H x 1" W x 7/16" thick (36 x 25 x 11 mm)
Slightly larger than the standard Chinese tile. The added size improves legibility, supports a cleaner wall build, and gives each tile satisfying weight and presence in hand.

MATERIAL
Engraved acrylic with custom hand-painted ink. Dense enough to produce a clean, stone-like click when shuffled, which experienced players know matters more than it sounds.

INCLUDES
Cloud Puffer Bag (10" W x 6" H x 3" D, teal): soft storage bag with a zippered interior pocket for dice and spare tiles.
Coin Purse (5" W x 4" H): sized for dice, coins, or end-of-night winnings.
Dice: set of 3

RACK COMPATIBILITY
These tiles are sized for Four Friends Mahjong's wooden racks and pushers. Standard-size racks from other sets will not seat them correctly.

ABOUT THE MAKER
Four Friends Mahjong is a women-founded independent based in Lafayette, California. Started in 2024 by four friends — an architect, an IT director, a teacher, and a lawyer — who began designing tiles for their own weekly game nights and never stopped.

CARE
Wipe with plain water and mild soap on a soft cloth. Keep out of direct sunlight. Avoid alcohol-based products (including hand sanitizer) and hot or soaking water, both of which will damage the painted surface.
